As the symbolic beginning of a new era, an era of Truth, Stop Misbruik Verzekeringen launches a first video on January 1st 2015. It is a call to action for victims of an accident, to report their corruption case. Most of the victims of medical corruption are afraid to publicly report their case. A press release is sent out to the Belgian press. Not 1 single journalist dares to write about the corruption in the Belgian courts. They fear legal consequences and complaints, government censorship and pressure is applied (Belgian media receive 350 million euro subventions per year to report on what the government decides is allowed to be reported). It is a subject that is not to be addressed. Questioning the (mal)practices of a judge, doctor, court, university or any related institution, equals journalistic suicide in Belgium. The press remains silent.

 

 

Two weeks later, Martinez Arroyo decides to report her case as well. The case MARTINEZ ARROYO/ETHIAS is born. The Belgian government (Medex) is involved in this obvious corruption case.

 

 

3 days later, Alain Heyrman joins the open resistance. It is an even more sad story of corruption, as a corrupt judge is involved in his case. Heyrman is denied critical surgery on demand of Allianz and becomes totally disabled. His medical files 'disappear', the judge protects the corrupt doctors and insurances. He receives 0 % disability, while it should be 100 %: traumatic brain injury, a broken neck, and various other injuries. The national Doctors Council nevers investigates the complaints. Heyrman decides to file a complaint at the prosecutor's office. Until this very day, 18 years later, his complaint has never been thoroughly investigated. The case HEYRMAN/ALLIANZ-AG is the darkest cloud on the Belgian legal system reported so far.

 

 

Barely a week later, the family Van Vaerenbergh decides to go public as well. Their court procedure, against the government agency MEDEX, has been ongoing for 22 years. Yes, 22 years. This very obvious corruption case shows how normal it is for Belgian courts, to cover up corruption by court doctors. The sickening part of this story is, that the corruption took place on demand of ... a governmental health agency. And led to 2 strokes for the victim that could have been avoided. It takes about 5 minutes to understand the case as a non-medical outsider. It is simply impossible that all the judges who have reviewed this case over the past 22 years, may have the slightest doubt about what is false and true. The case VAN VAERENBERGH/MEDEX is born.

 

 

1 brave journalist is intrigued and decides to investigate the matter. He receives the support of the national TV channel VRT. A 3 month investigation starts, and award winning journalist Wim Van den Eynde digs out more and more dirt. He excells by his perseverance, sharp and analytic mind and human, respectful approach of all people involved. The pressure on the VRT to cancel certain interviews is huge. Investigation journalist Wim Van den Eynde persists. Hundreds of other victims of this corruption contact Panorama and confirm they have similar stories. The Belgian government minimizes ad takes no appropriate measures.

 

 

Stop Misbruik Verzekeringen decides to search for solutions as well to meet the need for proper treatment. Nowhere in Belgium, a multidisciplinary treatment for TBI, whiplash or PTSS victims is offered. There is no funding for research or help to victims. MD's from all over the world provide input and insights in the latest diagnostic and treatment methods for diffuse axonal injuries, TBI, CFS, whiplash, and more.

 

 

Around the same time, Vercauteren reports his case. For the third time, a governmental health agency is involved in medical corruption. The case VERCAUTEREN/C.M.E. GENT is born.

 

 

A study group in the Belgian parliament starts a discrete investigation upon request of 1 member of parliament, Ann Vanheste (Sp.a). Over 500 other Belgian politicians do not respond to the appeal to end the corruption. It later turns out that quite a few Belgian politicians own or have ties with ... insurance broker agencies and companies related to the insurance cartel.

 

 

One month later, Bergkotte shares his dramatic story. AG Insurance, for the third time, is involved in a heart breaking case of a shattered life. The young man is badly injured after a 9 m deep fall, still needs surgery, received zero treatment for brain injury, is in desperate need of household help, neurofeedback treatment and psychological assistance and has to live of ... 400 euro per month. The case BERGKOTTE/AG is born.

 

 

Barely a couple of days later, Bodson reports her case. Again, it is a sad succession of one corruption story after another. 2 consecutive car accidents, twice with AXA, for which she never received a penny, left her on lasting disability. On top of that, a government doctor kicks her out of social security, leaving her in poverty and without necessary treatment. The case BODSON/AXA is born. Later, we learn about similar stories. The fact that - mainly the CM - is involved in the corruption mechanism, is confirmed by insiders.

 

 

Less than a week later, Callewaert sends us the details of her sad story. Traumatic brain injury is classified as ... a piano cramp ! Twelve years after her accident, a new court procedure is about to start. She fears the worst. Her trust in the Belgian legal system has dived below zero. The case CALLEWAERT/ETHIAS is born.

 

 

Victims file a joint complaint for corruption against insurance companies, corrupt doctors and the national Doctors Council at the prosecutor's office. Until this day, the prosecutor refuses to investigate. The complaint is added to the pile of non-investigated corruption complaints. The corrupt doctors, again, walk freely.

 

 

A week later, the study group within the Belgian parliament confirms the claims of corruption by various sources, and acknowledges the abuses are even more wide spread than expected. 2 new law proposals are drawn up: 1 to dismantle the National Doctor's Council who covers up the corruption, 1 to protect victims.

 

 

A couple of days later, Vermeulen reports his corruption case. AXA is involved once more and wants to send a young man, on disability for life after a work accident, home with ... 4 %, or 100 euro per month ! Luckily, we can advise him in time: a second medical expertise is yet to start. New laws are urgent and necessary to ensure that this time, things can go honest. The case VERMEULEN/AXA is born.

 

 

2 days later, Spileers uncovers her dramatic story of a single mom, with seriously deteriorating health problems for over 8 years now, leaving her dependent on household and other third party help. Although well documented, her brain injuries following her accident were never compensated by DVV (part of Belfius). The case SPILEERS/DVV is born. 

 

 

And it goes on. More cases than can be handled keep coming in. Numerous victims are afraid to report their case publicly. The reported drama's are often heart breaking. Some involve young children, as the case of Zoë Destoop, who became paralysed at the age of 8 after a fall in school. Her parents are ruined and 8 years later, still did not receive any compensation of the insurance company. Zoë suffers great pain on a daily basis, a 30.000 euro treatment can help her but the insurance refuses to pay for it. She is facing a life of poverty and dependency of others. Parents who loose a child in an accident, receive on average 12.000 euro - a ridiculously low amount for this terrible loss. Insurance companies systematically wait for older or heavily injured victims of an accident to die. This way, they don't have to pay for the injuries, only for the burial. The arguments that court doctors, who also work as insurance doctors, bring to the table are often plain ridiculous and go against science. For example, a man who became blind in 1 eye received 0 euro compensation because 'he wore glasses before the accident, the eye wasn't perfect anymore'. Judgnes nod, stay silent, and confirm the false medical report.

 

 

The Minister of Justice and the Minister of Health remain silent and do not reply to our requests to take measures to end the corruption. On the contrary : the Minister of Justice wants to enforce a law on December 1st 2016 that protects the insurance companies even more and that legalizes the corruption even further. The prosecutors charged with the investigation of the corruption scheme refuse or close case after case. The national Doctors Council, the Court of Cassation, the High Council of Justice and other institutions that have been addressed, hide behind total silence. No one takes responsibility for the slow death that awaits these victims in Belgium. People left without treatment and support, die 15 years before average, and suffer from poor quality of life before they pass on. Families fall apart due to the medical, emotional, financial problems and stress created by this corruption.

 

 

The Belgian government has no idea about the cost of this Insurance corruption to the Belgian social security and welfare system. Health care providers estimate the cost at 2 to 3 billion euros per year, without counting the cost of people ending up on welfare, needing social housing, etc. and without mentioning the losses of income of the victims. The insurance companies continue to report millions and billions of profit each year. Once again, the Belgian tax payers end up paying for the financial sector. Some people die.

 

 

The insurance cartel starts threatening victims to shut up. Santens is warned for 'an accident'. Officially, the insurance cartel states through Assuralia that 'medical corruption in Belgian justice does not exist'. They maintain that all judgements of all insurance and court doctors have always been correct. All victims are liars and exagerate their injuries in search of 'profit'.

 

 

A forum for victims is created. It contains a 'black list' with corrupt court doctors, a 'white list' with honest doctors, a list of lawyers defending only victims, also one of lawyers working for insurance companies, information on the corruption strategies, how to prove injuries and causalities, law texts, and much more. 

 

 

A guide about Insurance Corruption is created.

 

 

A proposal of a protocol, that can prevent insurance corruption for the so-called 'invisible injuries' like TBI, PTSD and whiplash, is published. It includes Q-EEG, elaborate blood tests, biofeedback analysis, functional MRI and MRI/DTI with Dixon, quantitative SPECT, neurovisual testing, PETMR. All tests prove the 'invisible' injuries in an objective and relatively low cost manner, that leaves no room for subjective interpretations by corrupt court and insurance doctors. Accepting the protocol can save lives, and save money : both for the governments ànd the insurance companies, as people who receive treatment in an early stage, have a good chance of (partial) recovery, and may be able to start working again. Universities and government agencies refuse to study the protocol - applying it would mean the end of their cash cow : the compensations victims never get.

 

 

An appeal to dissolve the Belgian national Doctors Council, who has been covering up hundreds, perhaps thousands of corruption cases for decades, is launched. The Minister of Health remains silent and refuses any investigation of the archives of the Doctors Council which contain countless complaints about this corruption.

 

 

Reports start coming in, that the situation is similar in some other European countries. The UK and Ireland seem to have more honest systems. The Dutch judges have understood the corruption mechanism, and some do no longer follow the court doctors' medical reports. A thorough investigation throughout Europe is necessary to get an idea of the impact of the Insurance corruption on people's health and lives, and how it can be stopped. Investigation journalists can help to uncover the truth in their country.

Santens, together with another young mother, Liesbeth Mathieu, also a victim of this insurance corruption, decide to take the matter to the European Court of Human Rights. The preparations for Strassbourg can be followed here.

 

 

On May 21st 2015, Panorama broadcasts "Onpartijdigheid Verzekerd" and discloses the medical corruption in the Belgian court system.

All political parties promise to "investigate". Nobody does. Ann Vanheste, who promised to file a new law proposal, never files her law proposal to end the corruption. She never answers WHY she broke her promise. 

 

 

Several requests are submitted to organise public hearings in the federal parliament. ALL POLITICAL PARTIES vote AGAINST public hearings. Public hearings would disclose the scale and impact of the corruption and would expose the involvement of the Belgian government, universities, Doctor's Council, High Counsil of Justice, and many more.  

 

 

 

 

2016

 

 

As a solution, the Minister of Justice sets up a fake audit by the High Council of Justice (HRJ). It confirms the existence of the corruption but proposes no solutions to end it.

On April 26th 2016, the judge in the case Santens/AG confirms his support to the insurance cartel and follows almost all the arguments of AG Insurance. Once more, no justice, no treatment, no help, no compensation for Santens.

 

 

Barely a week after the judgement, at that point sure of the support and protection by the legal system, corrupt doctors including the University of Ghent start filing complaints against Santens for publicly exposing the insurance, legal and political corruption. Whereas complainst against the corrupt doctors are never examined, the prosecutor hurries to investigate the complaints against Santens for 'insulting' doctors, to intimidate and silence her. 

 

 

As a response, Belgian victims unite and start preparing a Class Action collective law suit against the Belgian government. 

 

 

A new video is launched, disclosing the reason WHY the Belgian government, assisted by the Belgian court system, is supporting and covering up the insurance corruption. The Belgian government is a key shareholder of the Belgian insurance companies, who do not have the funding anymore to compensate personal injury claims since the bank crisis of 2007 - 2008. National debt is the priority, health and lives of Belgian citizens are not.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2 months later, the same intimidation happens in the Netherlands, where the spokesperson of the Dutch resistance Mike De Groot is also sued for slander. He discloses the corruption of the Dutch court doctors in this video :

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As a response, WIVU is created : Worldwide Insurance Victims United. So far, it is a Benelux cooperation.

In the summer of 2016, it becomes painfully obvious that no help or change can be expected from the Belgian government. Both the catholic (CD&V), socialist (Sp.a) and liberal (Open-VLD) political party withdraw their promises to remedy and request hearings in parliament. It proves Belgium is not governed by its people or the representatives chosen by the people, but by banks and the financial industry.

 

 

A group of victims files a complaint with the European Commission (read here). AG Insurance victims want to interrupt the AGEAS (Fortis) settlement, pending before the Court of Amsterdam (Netherlands) until there is clarity about the 1,2 billion euro AGEAS wants to pay to former Fortis stock holders : are these the provisions put aside for injury victims ? According to insiders, AGEAS wants to use compensations put aside for victims to pay out the former Fortis stock holders - and leave thousands of victims to die slowly, without ever compensating them for their injuries. Former Prime Minister Yves Leterme confirms he knew about the corruption mechanism already 10 years ago, but "can't do anything about it anymore" as he "left the Belgian political scene years ago". Ironic detail: he is now the President of IDEA International, an intergovernemental organization aiming to "promote and reform democracy" ...

The Green party (Groen) takes an interest in the matter and files a couple of questions in the Belgian parliament regarding privacy and insurance doctors breaking into hospital medical databases and regarding the lack of control and sanction mechanisms in the new law meant to be confirmed on December 1st. They especially find it alarming that the Minister of Finance, the FSMA and the National Bank of Belgium refuse to answer some simple questions, like : do the Belgian insurance companies have enough provisions to pay victims of an accident or medical error - or not ?

Victims file requests for public hearings in the parliament. Investigation of the Belgian insurance cartel is requested from various financial supervision bodies. The High Council for Justice hasn't examined 1 single corruption case. The prosecutor's office increases the pressure on and intimidation of whistleblower Santens. On November 7th 2016, a court procedure starts against all corrupt doctors in the case Santens/AG, including the universities of Gent and Leuven. Dozens of corruption victims came to protest to ask for fair justice (video).

On November 8th 2016, the appeal procedure in the case Santens/AG starts. The court makes it clear right from the start that it will protect the insurance's intrests.
